QUINCY, ILL. -- Some big ticket names on the Illinois' Republican ballot came to Quincy Friday.

Dan Rutherford and Judy Baar Topinka made a campaign stop at the Holiday Inn.

They have been going around the state campaigning together.

They hope that if they are elected into office, they will combine the two positions they are running for.

Rutherford is running for State Treasurer and Topinka is running for State Comptroller.

But both say this stop in Quincy has more meaning that just for the campaign.

"Quincy and Adams County and Western Illinois is a significant place where I have friends and it's a significant voting block. So I want to be here amongst my friends and once again say, do what you know you need do by 7 pm next Tuesday night," said Dan Rutherford.

"Quincy for me is a great town. I love Quincy, it's beautiful and I have people working here for me in the Treasurer's office so I have good friendships here," said Judy Baar Topinka.

Rutherford is running against Robin Kelly

Baar Topinka's democratic opponent is David Miller.
