With hunting season in full swing in Missouri and firearms season beginning this weekend in Illinois, more folks will be using ATV's.

There are a few things drivers need to keep in mind before climbing on in this KHQA Safe Family Health Report.

Traeders TNT Yamaha ATV experts say riders should have proper protective gear. Always wear a helmet and also consider gear like a chest protector, gloves, long sleeves and pants to protect your skin.

Don't carry passengers unless your ATV is designed to accommodate them.

But the best way to stay safe is the simplest: use common sense and drive safely.
