QUINCY, ILL. -- Whether you like them or not, gift cards were a big draw this year.
Analysts predict shoppers spent about $91 billion on gift cards this year.
That's a six percent jump from last year.
What options do you have if you don't like gift cards, or at least don't like the gift card you were given?
Believe it or not, there are some options according to www.smartmoney.com.
One option is this website, www.swapagift.com.
You can get up to 90 percent of the card's value back via check or PayPal.
You can also exchange your card for other cards at this website.
If you're going to swap out your card, another idea is to find a friend or family member who may have a card to swap, or willing to just give you cash for your gift card.
www.smartmoney.com also suggests putting your card on E-Bay, but it does point out, it's pretty hard to make a profit off of a gift card.
You can also try a check cashing place, although you'll probably only get about 50 percent of the cards value.
One other option, regift that card to someone else.
