According to a recent NY Times article, many states are looking to looking at bankruptcy as a way out if its crushing debt and insolvent pension funds.

The problem is, that's illegal. Unlike cities, states are barred from seeking protection in federal bankruptcy court.

We have reached out to some area lawmakers for comments on this topic and hope to have more on the subject. But we want to know what you think.
