QUINCY, ILL. -- It looks like the job market is getting a little brighter.

Companies are starting to look for employees to fill positions for the spring.

Many of the jobs will be seasonal, but if you're out of work, this may be the perfect opportunity to land a job.

Jobs they are a comin' to the Tri-States.

"We're expecting to hire 25 to 30 people per store nationwide," says Chad Stevenson, an Assistant Manager at the Quincy Home Depot store.

That's a total of 60,000 positions around the country for Home Depot. The positions will be part time and used primarily to help out with a special Black Friday type sale this spring that hasn't been announced.

"We normally hire up in the spring, but nothing like they are doing this year," says Stevenson.

Applications for Home Depot are already being accepted. Adecco USA is an employment service that looks for employees to fulfill their clients needs. Cheryl Liggett is the Quincy Branch Manager. She says her office has already been busy. A lot of the jobs have been on the industrial or labor side of things.

"We've actually seen a big increase in what we call professional demand. They might be mechanics, maintenance, quality assurance assistants. Even on the clerical sides like accounting and specialty fields," says Liggett.

Liggett also says she's seeing a demand from new clients who haven't used a temporary staffing agency before. Also, this year, she's seeing more temp to permanent type jobs.

"Which means they will run them through Adecco for a duration of time. They will make sure attendance is good, productivity is good, and they will hire them on permanently," says Liggett.

A temporary job may last about three months, but it could also land you a full time position with benefits like health insurance, vacation, and 401 K possibilities if they like your work.
