QUINCU, ILL. -- All eyes are on the river these days.

Area emergency management agencies, including FEMA are concerned about the flood outlook for this spring.

The national weather service says there's a higher level of snow pack in the North than average.

Folks with FEMA tell us when you combine that with normal levels of spring rain, there's a heightened possibility of flooding up and down the Mississippi.

Josh deBerge with FEMA said, "Right now in this point in time we are in a monitoring stage. We stand ready to support the states as needed."

FEMA officials also emphasize like all disasters like the earthquake in Japan, families need to have a go-bag with water, food, medications and anything else the family might need for a few days.
