HANNIBAL, MO. -- She's volunteered more than 2500 hours in her life, 253 of those this year alone.

Monday, Mary Pipkin was honored as the Hannibal Regional Hospital Auxiliary Volunteer of the Year.

The Auxiliary has more than 250 members and it works to promote Hannibal Regional Hospital through community awareness, health related education, and fundraising initiatives.

And just like a typical volunteer, Pipkin is not one to brag on herself.

Mary Pipkin says, "I enjoy working with everyone of them and we had a good time together and it's an honor to be chosen volunteer of the year, really."

Another special award was given to Hilda Tennyson.

She received the President's Volunteer Service Award after retiring as the Auxiliary's book keeper for 22 years.

This wasn't from the Auxiliary's President, but from President Barack Obama.
