QUINCY, ILL. -- UPDATE: SATURDAY MAY 7

Folks still recovering from recent tornados in Alabama will get a lift thanks to a local church and the community.

The Quincy Church of Christ held a disaster supply drive Saturday to help collect money and items needed for folks in the small town of Cordova, Alabama.

Folks drove by all day, generously giving cash as well as food and cleaning items.

Right now folks in rural areas aren't seeing supplies and aid like in some of the larger cities.

Organizers say that's why this collection is so important.

Church volunteers collected more than ten totes of materials.

Members will leave Monday morning to deliver the goods to the places seeing the most need.
