The McDonough County Voice reports that a house fire on North Monroe Street Thursday afternoon was not a total loss thanks to Macomb fire crews who responded quickly.

They received the initial call at 1:48 p.m. that smoke was reported at 610 N. Monroe Street.

Other than ceiling damage to a bathroom and bedroom, the rest of the home was left in good condition.

Thankfully no one was home at the time and there were no injuries.

The fire remains under investigation.
