On Friday, May 27 the City of Hannibal will be setting two floodgates.

At this point, the only gates to be installed will be at the Center and Hill Street locations.

Additional floodgates will be set if needed.  But Hannibal Emergency Management Director John Hark says the city of Hannibal is open and ready for the big holiday weekend.

"What this really says, when were setting the flood gates is, no matter what the river is doing, Hannibal is open, alive, dry and well and doing business as usual," said Harks.

No word on how long the gates will stay in place.
