Plan to build single family homes in the area

The Quincy Plan Commission has thrown its support behind a zoning change for the city's 1st Ward.
QUINCY, ILL --
1st Ward Alderaman LexZe Mann asked the commissioners to approve a request from Les Fonza who wants to build single family homes on 13 properties in the 16 hundred block of North 5th street.

That would change the zoning from from 2 family residential to single family residential.

At a recent meeting regarding the issue about  30 residents said they were in favor of the idea.

The issue now moves to the full City Council.
