QUINCY, ILL. -- Many boys in their childhoods participate in Boy Scouts of America, but only 2% become Eagle Scouts.
Saturday, three Boy Scouts who climbed the ranks received this very huge honor.
For many years Brandon Romans, Tanner Arntzen, and Alex Reed have made box cars, camped in the woods, and learned all about several different topics.
There are several requirements they had to meet to get them to where they are today.
They all completed final projects that will better the community.
And it finally came to an end Saturday afternoon.
Tanner Arntzen says, "It's a big weight off my chest, getting my Eagle Scout. It's something I've always wanted to do ever since I was a little kid and wanted to join scouts. It's just such a great accomplishment knowing that I'm one of the few people who have reached the Eagle Scout."
Brandon Romans says, ""It's awesome knowing I finally got it done. I've been in it since 5th grade so it's been a long time to get to it."
Alex Reed says, "It makes me feel pretty good. It's a long road, lots of public services but lots of fun too."
An interesting fact about Eagle Scouts, 26 of the first 29 Astronauts were former scouts.
Congratulations to you three young men.
