The Quincy fire department got some good news from the City Council Tuesday night.
QUINCY, ILL. --
Our news partners, WTAD and the Quincy Journal reports that Chief Joe Henning got approval for a bidding request for roof repairs at Station 4.
The project will cost more than 49 thousand dollars.
The Council also approved a bid of more than 23 thousand dollars for repairs on the tower at the Central Fire Station.
In other news Mayor John Spring read a proclamation declaring September 11th as a day of remembrance in Quincy. There will be a special program at city hall from 2:30 until 5pm, where the proclamation will be read again.
That's when the city will dedicate a 7 thousand pound artifact taken from the debris of the World Trade Center.
