QUINCY, ILL. -- We all know that fruits and vegetables are healthy for you, but sometimes it's not always easy to pack them in your lunch.
Here is a quick and easy tip to help you eat healthier throughout the day.
When choosing fruits and vegetables, think in color.
Each color has different nutritional values.
Fruits and vegetables that are orange have beta-keratines and Vitamin-C in them which help your immune system.
Blue or purple produce are good for your eye health ... greens help the digestive system.
And red produce provide a lot of antioxidants and help with heart health.
Hy-Vee Health and Wellness Specialist Shelby Miller says, "They all provide something different. So, when you're looking at an apple and an orange, yes they're still fruits, and yes you're getting some part of the food group in it, but they don't provide the same nutrients or vitamins and minerals."
