BEARDSTOWN, ILL. -- Here's a follow-up to a story we brought you in year's past about the Tri-State Santa.

This weekend is your chance to give needy boys and girls a Christmas...while enjoying some local music.

You'll recall this man Jack Bailey, also known as Santa, spends his year collecting and distributing toys for area children in need.

Last year he helped more than three thousand kids get a christmas gift.

Now he's hoping an event this weekend will help him collect toy donations.

It's all part of what's being called Santa's Birthday Party put on by Santa's workshop.

Three local bands Outlaw, Rawhide and Justin Cider will perform at the Beardstown Plaza.  The plaza is located in the old Wal-Mart parking lot in Beardstown.

The only cost is a toy donation or a non perishable food item to go to area food pantries.  Monetary donations to buy toys will also be accepted.

The event starts at noon with music at 1p.m. to 5:30p.m.

The Tri-State Santa needs your help to gather enough gifts to make his holiday deliveries, so make plans to attend the concert.

You can also take or send donations to Santa's Workshop, 603 E. 4th St., Beardstown, IL 62618 or call 309-338-1500.
