New developments for Quincy Humane Society dog park

Quincy dogs and their owners should have an easier time getting around the Humane Society's dog park in the future.
Remember Rover's Run? It's a great outdoor space for dogs to get out, run and socialize with other dogs, but the nice thing is that there are two fenced in areas ... one for small dogs and one for large dogs.
At Rover's Run right now, visitors can see wooden forms for what will be stairs to the lower level of the dog park.
The plan is to fill these steps with dirt and a layer of gravel.
"We talked about the option of concrete but first of all, this is all done with donated materials and labor. Concrete's a little expensive. But we also felt that during the winter months when it could potentially get slippery, the gravel would have better traction on the surface," said Sally Westerhoff with the Quincy Humane Society.
Westerhoff says this should be the last enhancement to the dog park for a while and it's uncertain when the stairs will be completed.
Dog owners can register their furry friends for only $10 at the front desk of the Humane Society. Click here for more information on their website.
