QUINCY, ILL. -- We all have busy lives balancing work and kids. Sometimes it doesn't seem possible to squeeze in a work-out too.
"Busy moms don't take enough time for themselves and they put it off. It's so worth being healthy and fit and feel good about yourself when you're having to be pulled in so many directions at work and with your kids," says Anne Rupert.
That's why it's important to add quick exercises into your daily routine. It's as simple as waking up just a few minutes early. You can start your day with a little cardio and arm exercises
"You can run stairs, get some cardio in. You can do your pushups on counter tops. You can do pushups on your stairs. You can also add in some jumping jacks," says Rupert.
Tegan Orpet even got her workout on during the commercial breaks of the morning show.
Throughout the day, work in cardio and move to lower body workouts.
Jill Shoot says, "We're going to do a minute of walking or lunging, walking up and down the steps. When we're doing with that, we're going to do some squats holding the baby upright, and just keeping the eye contact with the baby, so you can do your 10 squats. Then we're going to go back to the lunging or using the steps.".
And when you get home from work, you can do some ab and lower back exercises.
Rupert says, "You would just take an opposite hand and leg, and you're going to reach those across the room, lengthening out. You're going to alternate from your left to your right side, back and forth. Do these 10 times on each side. That would be a great amount of number to do and then you can repeat that again with the crunches on the ball."
When possible, get your kids involved. These are easy exercises that your children can enjoy also. And always remember to stretch at the end of your exercise.
