TRI-STATE AREA -- A good soaking rain and a strong cold front have brought about major changes to our weather, and this changeup will continue into Thursday night and Friday.
Most of us have had between 1 and 2 inches of rainfall from late Wednesday evening through Thursday – good enough to get dormant sump pumps working again. The rain has also pushed chilly temperatures into the Tri-States. Temperatures have stayed in the 40s throughout Thursday afternoon and evening.
Rainfall will finally end early Thursday night, but the noticeably colder temperatures will stick around a while longer. We’ll be in the 30s Thursday night and the 50s on Friday afternoon – at least the sun returns on Friday!
The other big story has been the wind. We’ve had some Thursday wind gusts in the 40-to-45-miles-an-hour category – good enough to turn part of our interactive marketing director’s umbrella inside out! I’m sure Michelle and the rest of us will be rather pleased when the wind subsides late Thursday night.
On Friday, we’ll look toward the weekend. I’ll have a complete weekend weather update for you at 5pm, 6pm, and 10pm on KHQA-TV 7 and here at connecttristates.com!
