ST. LOUIS, MO. -- Missouri state health officials say there are now 28 E.coli cases in the St. Louis area outbreak.

The state Department of Health and Senior Services said one new case is from a Boone County resident who had recently been in St. Louis.

No deaths or life-threatening illnesses have been reported since the first cases were reported last week.

State health investigators have focused on Schnucks markets because most of the people who got sick reported recently eating from salad bars in at least five stores in the St. Louis region. But the health department says that no food samples tested have had E. coli.
