QUINCY, ILL. -- The Abbey in Quincy is on a mission to ensure area kids get toys this Christmas.
Sunday, the restaurant offered discounts for customers who brought in toy donations. The Abbey is a supporter of the Salvation Army's Toy Town this year.
Everyone who donated a toy during their visit to the Abbey received half price appetizers. If you brought in over ten dollars in toys, you could get two prime rib dinners for 20 dollars.
"We decided to help out with the toy drive this year, because I think a lot of needy kids in the area need some toys, and it's a good cause. I think we're making a lot of difference giving toys to kids who really can't afford them this year. I know during the holiday time people are low on money," said Gabe McClean, owner of the Abbey.
KHQA's a proud sponsor of the Salvation Army's Toy Town this year. If you drive through Quincy, you may have seen a big Gully semi trailer out back in the Doors-N-More Parking lot. We're hoping to fill the trailer with toy donations with help from you. You can drop off your donations at our front lobby throughout the week.
