New Year's Eve is quickly approaching -- 2 days away, in fact.
You might be headed out and about to parties around the Tri-States.
But, in case you're the host of the party, here are some quick appetizers to get your party going.
As big cities get ready for big parties, you might be planning your own New Years Eve get together. One easy snack item sure to please your guests is a fruit, cheese and cracker plate. Cheese comes in easy to serve portions and almost any fruit goes with cheese. Throw a few crackers on there and you have a delicious, easy to make cheese tray.
Another easy option is a hummus plate. Hummus comes in all different varieties. It's easy to throw different spreads in bowls. Accompany them with some healthy vegetables ... broccoli, carrots, and cucumbers are good choices. Pita also goes very well with hummus.
After you've eaten your fair share of foods, a drink might be in order. A quick and easy, non-alcoholic drink to make for New Years is called the Times Square. Take some heavy cream, some orange juice, a little pineapple juice, grenadine, and a cherry and there you go.
If you plan on going out to celebrate, there are plenty of options around the Quincy area...
Scottie's Fun Spot is hosting two parties. One from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. for the kids. Another that lasts from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m.
Johnny Bang Bang's is hosting Country New Year's Eve featuring Tim Hart and Jerad Harness & Blackgrass.
ONE: Restaurant and Bar will have a party starting at 6 p.m. featuring Super Majik Robots.
Martini's at 515 will have Cheeks McGee playing.
