QUINCY, ILL. -- A Quincy man is in jail Wednesday morning facing charges of home invasion and aggravated assault.

Police say 41-year-old David Garkie forced his way into a room at the Diamond Motel on North 12th Street where a woman was sleeping.

An argument broke out and Garkie was allegedly seen holding a baseball bat before leaving the scene.

The woman was not hurt.

Police were called and Garkie came back to the scene and was arrested.
