Meth arrests at alleged Keokuk drug house

KEOKUK, IOWA -- The Lee County Narcotics Task Force arrested two Keokuk residents on felony charges on January 6.
Debra Suzanne Bevard, 44, and Edward Lee Steele, 25, both of 2123 Missouri Avenue in Keokuk were arrested on felony and misdemeanor drug charges.
Bevard and Steele are charged with Conspiracy to Manufacture Over Five Grams of Methamphetamine, a Class B Felony as well as Maintaining a Drug House, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.
Steele was also charged with Possession of Marijuana, a Serious Misdemeanor and in total he faces up to twenty-eight years in a state correctional facility. Bevard faces up to twenty-seven years.
The arrests stem from an investigation into a meth manufacturing conspiracy in which Bevard and Steele were both suspects.
