DES MOINES, IOWA -- Iowans will likely pay more at the pump in the coming year.

Iowa lawmakers from both parties predict the Legislature will approve an increase to Iowa's gasoline tax this year.

Many legislators support a four cent increase to the tax in each of the following two years.

Iowa last raised its gas tax in 1989.

Lawmakers also want to see millions in cuts to the Department of Transportation to further belt tighten.
