QUINCY, ILL. -- The Quincy School Board will try to get approval for $700,000 in life safety bonds from the Illinois State Board of Education.
The Quincy Journal reports that the money would be used for new plumbing at Quincy High School.
Before going into executive session to discuss raises for non-union employees, the board also approved letting the Quincy YMCA build a concession stand at the baseball field between Baldwin and Quincy High.
The YMCA uses that field during its summer youth baseball programs.
A second special meeting scheduled by the board for next Monday at 4:30 p.m.
That meeting will include public feedback on the board's possible plan for staff reductions next year.
In February, the board adopted a plan to reduce its debt, which includes $1 million from the 2012-2013 school year.
