ADAMS CO., ILL. -- Adams County is facing cash flow problems and the state of Illinois isn't helping.
At Tuesday night's meeting, board members learned the state is more than 500 thousand dollars behind in payments.
That was the report from County Finance Board Chairman John Johnson in the meeting.
The Quincy Journal reports Johnson says the county is behind in revenues because of the lag on the state side. Tax revenues are also down from what they were a year ago. That is also causing concern for the county.
Johnson recommended that the county tighten it's belt until things turn around.
The County has no time frame on when the state will pay its overdue bills to the county.
