QUINCY, ILL. -- "Drug Take Back Day" will make another round of collections in Quincy.

From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, the Quincy Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public an opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft.

Residents are asked to dispose of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted medications in their home. Medicine for disposal should be brought to the Quincy Mall, Quincy Police Sub-Post.

The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. Controlled, non-controlled, and over the counter substances may be collected. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain in their sealed containers and participants should ensure that the cap is tightly sealed to prevent leakage. Intra-venous solutions, injectibles, and syringes will not be accepted due to the potential hazard posed by blood-borne pathogens.

For information call the QPD’s Pro-Act Unit at 228-4485.
