Hopes of a new business near Wever could would bring nearly one hundred and sixty five new jobs to Iowa.

According to the Daily Gate City, Tuesday night's Lee County board meeting resulted in the approval to hire new legal counsel during the negotiations with Iowa Fertilizer Company.

Bob Josten with Dorsey and Whitney Des Moines is being considered as the new legal representative.

The current attorney, County Attorney Mike Short, understands the fertilizer company negotiation is out of Short's expertise.

If negotiations move forward and a plan is agreed upon, Iowa Fertilizer Company would open a new 300 acre plant in the Green Bay Bottoms.

Green Bay Bottoms is located east of Wever, Iowa.
