A preliminary hearing Tuesday was continued for a Quincy woman accused of firing a gunĀ at her husband before he took his own life.
Bethany Coyle was in Adams County Court along with her attorney Tuesday for a preliminary hearing. The initial hearing, where Coyle would enter a plea of not guilty or guilty, was rescheduled for 1:15 p.m. June 26.
Coyle, 28, is charged with reckless discharge of a firearm. She is free on $5,000 bond.
Her husband Wallace was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the early morning on May 26.
The couple was embroiled in an argument when Bethany Coyle retrieved a handgun and fired a single round that struck a wall inside their home, according to a press release from the Quincy Police Department.
Following a struggle with the gun, Wallace Coyle grabbed it out of her hand and shot himself in the head, the press release says.
