COLUMBIA, MO. (AP) -- Toxicology tests show that Missouri State Sen. Chuck Graham's blood alcohol content was well over the legal limit when he was arrested for drunk driving in October.

Citing a report from the St. Louis University Toxicology Lab, The Columbia Tribune reported that Graham's BAC was about 0.143 several hours after his arrest. He was taken into custody after his vehicle rear-ended a car October 20 in Columbia.

The legal threshold of intoxication in Missouri is 0.08 percent.

Toxicology lab director Christopher Long estimated that Graham probably had "six to seven beers" in his system when the blood test was conducted.

Graham had told officers he had consumed two beers.

The Columbia Democrat pleaded guilty last week to misdemeanor DWI and paid a $500 fine plus $122 in court costs.
