QUINCY, ILL. -- The Adams County Health Department named its new administrator Thursday just weeks after current director Nancy Bluhm announced she would resign.

The board voted unanimously to name current director of clinical and environmental services Jerrod Welch to the post.

Current director Nancy Bluhm announced last month that she will leave the department later this year.

Bluhm will stay on until the year's end to help train her successor. She is leaving because her husband recently accepted a job in Springfield, Mo.

Bluhm has worked with the agency for 26 years. She's served as administrator for 17.
