QUINCY, ILL. -- Police arrested a Quincy man Saturday for multiple hit and runs in downtown Quincy Friday evening.

Witnesses identified Arthur E. McNair, 42, as the man who struck a vehicle near 6th and Maine streets and fled the scene in a pickup truck. Three other parked vehicles and a fence were discovered damaged in the area. Witnesses described the same truck.

McNair is charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, no valid driver's license, improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper backing.

McNair was released with a notice to appear for a Dec. 19, court date at 9 a.m.
