KHQA FIRST REPORT: BK IS BOUND FOR KC

He had recruiting feelers from Iowa State, Colorado, and New Hampshire...

But in the end, Brandon McCann felt most at home playing next to another former NEMO great at Rockhurst.

KHQA has learned that the three time Bowling Green All State Selection is bound for Kanas City and could be an immediate running mate of GLVC Player of the Year Aaron Hill.

McCann averaged 17 points per game this season, in leading the Bobcats their fourth straight EMO Championship and fourth straight District Title under his command. During the course of his career, BK never lost a single conference or District game. Over the last two years, he shot an amazing 53% percent from the field and was the region's top assist producer at over six dimes per game.

Rockhurst was a late entrant into the Brandon McCann Derby, but the Hawks recruitment of BK really picked up after Bowling Green bested Palmyra in the Tony Lenzini Invitational with former C-SC Coach Steve Hill in attendance. Hill put in a quick call back to his son Aaron in Kansas City and told him that Bill O'Connor might want to get some tape on the kid. And in the end, Hill's tip paid dividends as BK picked Rockhurst over GLVC Foe Drury. Truman State was also very much in the mix.

Iowa State had invited McCann to come to Ames as a preferred walk-on. Colorado was considering McCann before scholarshiping a JUCO point guard. McCann visited New Hampshire, but decide it was too far from home.

By the way, McCann boasts a 3.9 GPA
