BROWN COUNTY UNDAUNTED BY NASTY POST-SEASON DRAW

In quest for its first ever State Football Title, Brown County was thrown a significant curve ball on Saturday night.

Scan down the Hornets 1A Playoff bracket and you will find a likely date with 2006 State Champion Tuscola looming in Round Two.

Yes, the Warriors are just 6-3 on the year, but all three of those losses are to powerhouse 3A schools.

And it took a miracle for Triopia to deny Tuscola a third straight trip to Champaign last fall.

Unfair as it may seem, the 1A Titlist may actually be decided in Mount Sterling a week from Saturday and one really good football team will be left out in the cold.

This may be an unfair draw from a 1A seed, but don't expect Tom Little to whine about seedings or draws...
