HANNIBAL, MO. --      If you want to check out the Hannibal Pirate basketball team in action, you can do it for free this Friday night.
     But, you are asked to bring a donation.
     For the second year in a row, some of the staff at Hannibal High School is hosting a cancer awareness game.
     Last year, they raised money for the American Cancer Society.
     This year, the money is going to the James E. Cary Cancer Center in Hannibal.

"Our goal is to beat last year's total of $2500.  We are on our way to that.  I think we can get it done," says basketball coach Matt Pugh.

     There will also be other activities at the games Friday night.
     You're also asked to wear purple that night for cancer awareness.
     Last year, this group raised the most money for the American Cancer Society in Missouri through its Coaches for Cancer game.
     By the way, four staff members, including coach Pugh (pew) are cancer survivors, and one staff member is currently undergoing treatments.
