MACOMB, ILL. -- The former Macomb High School boy's basketball coach accused of sexual assault made a brief court appearance in a McDonough County courtroom Tuesday.

Dan Watson was scheduled for a pre-trial hearing before Circuit Judge William Poncin. The hearing was postponed until April 10.

The judge also ordered all discovery evidence due by March 27.

The Macomb School District has severed ties with Watson Feb. 20.

He faces a charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse for allegedly having relations with a teenage student.

The Macomb School Board approved a resignation agreement with Watson.

Under the agreement, his resignation took effect in December with the district paying him to cover the time period he was on unpaid administrative leave.

Watson has pleaded not guilty and has remained free on bond since his Aug. 12 arrest.
