FORGED IN ADVERSITY: TRIOPIA'S RESOLVE STEELED BY TRAGEDY, TRIUMPH

On paper....his was as experienced and talented a roster as you would find in Western Illinois High School Football.

And yet, this still proved to be the most trying, difficult first week of coaching Rich Thompson has experienced in his career....

But this wasn't about X's and O's...but rather football family in pain.

As Pam Schone, Trojan Football mother and step mother, beloved wife, ardent fan and admired friend, lost her battle with cancer...leaving a hole right smack in the heart of a program and a community.
