MACOMB, ILL. -- A team effort of three fire departments helped contain a large fire at a machine shed in Macomb, Saturday evening.

Crews remained on site throughout the night monitoring hot spots at 13800 N. 1150th Rd.

Firefighters from Macomb, Industry and Emmet-Chalmers Fire Protection District responded to the fire just before 5 p.m. after witnesses reported hearing multiple explosions nearby.

Lt. Tim Campbell, with the Macomb Fire Department says an acetyl tank exploded inside the shed, engulfing the entire storage building to go up in heavy dark smoke and flames. Firefighters later found the top of the tank in a nearby field.

No injuries were reported, but the residential facility is a total loss.
