PITTSFIELD, ILL. -- Hundreds of people turned out to support a local woman battling cancer Tuesday night.

They gathered for a prayer vigil at The Liberty Village in Pittsfield.

That's where 30-year-old Eva Kelly was transferred Monday from a Springfield hospital.

People formed a line that led to Kelly's window, where they could stop and say a brief prayer for her.

"The outpouring of support from people in Pike County has been amazing," organizer Michelle Garrett said. "I've had e-mails from people from California showing their love. Eva's hanging in. We're just giving her all the prayers we can, trying to make her comfortable."

Kelly was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago, and the cancer has spread since then.
