HANNIBAL, MO. -- Five people were hospitalized late Wednesday after a two-car crash at a Hannibal intersection.

The crash occurred at 8:40 p.m. when a southbound 2007 Pontiac G6 driven by 16-year-old Chelisa Deere struck a 1997 Dodge Ram driven by 53-year-old Rickey Thomas of New London.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said a southbound Deere ran a stop sign at the intersection of Route MM and Veterans Road and struck Thomas' truck.

Three minor passengers in Deere's car were also injured.

All five people involved in the crash were taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment.
