The Manteno Police Department has identified a suspect in a recent Quincy bank robbery.

Lt. Joel Whalen said they have identified a suspect, but said that the department didn't want to make the identity known to the public.

Manteno is located in Kankakee County

The Quincy Police Department is not releasing any additional information.

The robbery took place at 4 p.m. Dec. 26 at the First Mid-Illinois Bank & Trust at 3233 Broadway.

The man got away with an undisclosed amount of money. Officers combed the neighborhoods and businesses around the bank, but didn't make an arrest.

Investigators later said that the robbery might have been part of a string of bank robberies in Illinois, Missouri and Iowa.
