With all of the memorable contributions the St. Louis Cardinals have received from its younger hitters and pitchers in recent seasons, you might be surprised to learn that the Redbirds are still the 7th-oldest team in the league by average age. That may not hold true for much longer, though: the Cardinals have been investing in many of their young players for years, and those players know that the future of one of the most storied sports franchises is riding on their shoulders.
