QUINCY, ILL. -- Quincy residents donated their time and old unwanted belongings to help a good cause Saturday morning.

Jackson Weppler is a three-year-old battling stage 3 liver cancer. He was diagnosed last October. Jackson and his parents are currently at Saint Louis Children's Hospital for care.

Jackson's aunt, Carrie Weppler, organized the garage sale at Madison Park Church in Quincy. Funds raised will help cover the family's living needs and medical bills.

"We were overwhelmed with how much we received from the community and how much they have helped us out and supported us with thoughts and prayers," Carrie Weppler said.

More than $7,000 were raised during Saturday's garage sale.
