Quincy man arrested after reports of shots fired near apartment complex

QUINCY, ILL. -- Quincy police apprehended a Quincy man early Sunday morning after responding to a shots fired call at 1120 Lind St.

Officers arrived on scene just before 2:30 a.m. and learned the subject was in an apartment at that location. Area residents led officers to 22-year-old Caleb G. Dickerson, who was arrested and taken to the Adams County Jail.

Upon further investigation, officers learned Dickerson had stolen a pick-up truck and obtained a handgun from the stolen vehicle.

Dickerson faces charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm, theft over $500, and felon in possession of firearm. No injuries were reported.

The Quincy Police Department Emergency Response Team and Adams County Sheriff’s Department also assisted with investigation.
