A semi owned by AMCOM struck the Ellington Road railroad bridge while attempting to go eastbound on Ellington Road Thursday.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., the driver, 42-year-old Brian S. Viar, attempted to drive his truck underneath the bridge marked for 12-foot-6-inch clearance.

Deputies with the Adams County Sheriff's Office responded to the accident that resulted in moderate damage to the tractor trailer.

Viar was not injured and the bridge was not damaged.

The County Highway Department and BNSF assisted at the scene.
