QUINCY, ILL. -- A fire of any sort should not be taken lightly. Each year, volunteer firefighters come to Quincy to better prepare themselves with fire rescue training.

The 7th annual Fire College took place Friday and Saturday. Firemen from around the Tri-States registered to take these classes hosted by the Quincy Fire Department. The lessons ranged from a recruit boot camp to a tower burn, where they practiced rescuing people from a burning building.

The Salvation Army also attended the event to prepare its emergency canteen services for the firefighters.

In all, 185 people attended this year's classes, representing 35 different agencies.
