FARMERS INSURANCE OPEN - 2ND ROUND

LA JOLLA, CALIFORNIA (TORREY PINES)

Quincy native Luke Guthrie followed up a 4-under 68 on Thursday with a round of 3-under on Friday at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.

Guthrie carded 5 birdies and 2 bogeys on the day for a 3-under 69 in the second round. That puts him in a tie for 9th place at 7-under par, just 4 strokes behind tournament leader Tiger Woods, who will begin play on Saturday at 11-under.

He finished well-ahead of the cut line (-1) and makes his second-consecutive cut in the 2013 season.

Guthrie will tee off at 9:10 AM PDT in the third round, paired with John Senden and Tag Ridings.

You can see full 3rd and 4th round coverage this weekend on KHQA/CBS. That coverage starts at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
