Former Warsaw Boss to lead Keokuk
KHQA FIRST REPORT: JEFF DAHL TO RETURN TO THE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL BENCH AT KEOKUK
The man who led Warsaw to its cinderella state title in 1997 is making his return to the Tri State Bench.
KHQA has learned that Jeff Dahl has been offered, and has accepted the head coaching position at Keokuk High School. He will replace Jeff Sisk who stepped down earlier this summer to spend more time with his family.
Dahl presided over one of the most storied State Championship runs in IHSA Small School history, punctuated by Bill Heisler's miracle three pointer to force overtime in the state title game with Spring Valley Hall. He left coaching after a tumultuous 1999 season that saw then undefeated Warsaw have to sit star transfer Jason Edwin after the IHSA ruled he did not meet emancipated student status. Absent Edwin's presence, the Wildcats bowed out of the State Playoffs in the Sectional Finals in a loss to QND
Dahl is expected to be approved by the Keokuk School Board on Monday.
