ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Steve Spagnuolo is moving quickly to fill out his new coaching staff.
Several reports on Wednesday say the new St. Louis Rams coach is expected to name Pat Shurmur as offensive coordinator. And, Spagnuolo is reportedly about to hire Ken Flajole to run the defense.
Rams spokesman Rick Smith says no deal is in place for either position.
Shurmur is 43 and has been with the Eagles since 1999. He began in Philadelphia as tight ends coach but has spent the past seven years coaching quarterbacks. He was a finalist for the head coaching job at Michigan State, his alma mater, in 2006, before that job went to Mark Dantonio.
Flajole is 54 and is a veteran NFL assistant, most recently as linebackers coach at Carolina.
