The Quincy University men's basketball team continues to put together one of the top seasons in school history. The Hawks have moved up two spots in the latest NACB/NCAA Division II Coaches Poll, placing them 10th in the nation. Quincy is currently 12-2 overall.
The top eight teams remained the same from last week with Winona State (Minn.) holding on to the top spot with all eight first-place votes.
For Quincy, it marks the highest ranking by the men's basketball team since the 1988-89 season when the Hawks reached No. 6 in the country. That year QU set a school record for consecutive wins to open a season with 10, defeating the top two ranked teams back-to-back, Southeast Missouri State University and Kentucky Wesleyan College, and finishing with a 20-8 overall record.
Quincy, 12-2 overall and tied for first place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference West Division with a 5-1 record, has won three consecutive games. The Hawks return to action Thursday at home when they face Kentucky Wesleyan College in a GLVC game. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
